No. Anyone can register a .org domain. It is, however, strongly associated with non-profit and idealistic projects.
How much does a .org domain cost?

Can I transfer my existing .org domain to uptopIQ?
Yes. Enter your domain in the search and choose “Check transfer”. You need the auth code from your current provider; we take over the usual DNS records automatically.
When is my .org domain registered?
Once payment is received, usually within minutes. In some cases we check an order manually first; you will get an e-mail as soon as everything is ready.
Can I get webspace and e-mail with it?
Yes. You can add a webspace plan in the cart – SSL certificate, mailboxes and the Plesk control panel are included with every plan.
