Who is .de for?
For Austrian companies with customers in Germany: many users there especially trust a .de address. A .de domain can point to the same website as your .at domain.
You do not need to live in Germany. However, the registry DENIC can require holders based outside Germany to name an authorised agent for service in Germany.

Do I need an address in Germany?
No. You can register a .de domain while living in Austria. If DENIC requests it, holders based outside Germany must name an authorised agent for service in Germany.
Is .de worthwhile in addition to .at?
If you have customers in Germany, yes. Both domains can point to the same website.

Can I transfer my existing .de domain to uptopIQ?
